This event is being put on in conjunction with April Adventure League (AAL). AAL hosts events every day in April and we are super excited to be teaming up with them! Please check out their calendar of events if you’re looking to try new things, make new friends, or simply have nothing else to do!

Starved Rock Day Trip, 2 pm -9 pm

Join me for an afternoon of hiking at Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby, IL! If you’ve never been to this stunningly beautiful place, here is a description from Google.
Starved Rock State Park is a wilderness area on the Illinois River. It’s known for its steep sandstone canyons formed by glacial meltwater. Several, including the St. Louis, French and Wildcat canyons, have waterfalls. A wooded trail leads to Lover’s Leap Overlook, with views of the river and Starved Rock Dam. Park wildlife includes white-tailed deer, bald eagles and migratory birds.
After we’ve gotten our fill of hiking, we will head to Cracker Barrel in nearby Ottawa on the way home.

Ultimate Frisbee, 5 pm
The highlight of any Monday depending on what else you are doing. Come play ultimate frisbee for a few hours. These are just pickup games so show up no matter your skill level. Feel free to come late or leave early as it fits in your schedule.

Tacos, Coffee & Games (Introvert Party), 6:00 – 11:00pm
We will be having an evening of introverted fun filled party (or regular fun/fellowship for those that are not introverted that are also welcome) at Haraz Coffee House. It is a cool Yemeni coffee shop with coffee, tea, other drinks, and pastries. It also has some games that we can play, but anyone can bring games as well. You can also do some work if you so choose as they have wifi. For those who want to grab dinner beforehand at 6pm, we will go to Taco Dale (1056 Rte 59, Aurora, IL) for tacos/Mexican food, which is in the building next to it to the south.

Rock Climbing – Vertical Endeavors, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Come rock climb with us. Beginners welcome and come do (according to one guy behind me yesterday) “the coolest thing I’ve done in a while”.
Cost: Harness and shoe rentals available from Vertical endeavors (I think $5 each), and you can get a day pass for $24, or transfer me $18 and come in on my punch card.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, Social Lights is excited to highlight a stop on the national tour of The Master’s University Chorale. They will be performing a full concert at Grace Fellowship Church in Oak Forest, and it is an event you won’t want to miss.
Who is The Master’s University Chorale?
This isn’t just your average choir. The Chorale is a 49-member auditioned ensemble known for their technical excellence and deep passion for the Gospel. What makes them truly unique is the diversity within the group:
The members hail from 13 different states and three different countries.
While their voices blend perfectly, these students represent virtually every major area of study—from the sciences and history to music and psychology.
Why You Should Attend
At its core, this concert is about more than just a performance; it’s about fellowship. In a world that can often feel fragmented, seeing 49 young adults from different backgrounds united by a common purpose is a beautiful picture of what community is all about.
It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and enjoy a professional-level musical experience right here in our own backyard.
