April Adventure League 2026 Final Week!

When: April 26th to 30th

Where: Only true adventurerers will know

Ages: 18+, of accompanied by an adult

Welcome back for the last week of April Adventure League! It’s been a crazy month full of adventures and fellowship. We hope you’ve made it out to as many events as possible. Let’s see what’s on the agenda for the last few days of the month!

Sunday April 26th

The Home Church Hop @Holy Covenant Church, 9:45 – 11:30 am

Join me at church! We’re a fairly new church (planted in 2022) that just moved locations in January. It’s a non-denominational, semi-liturgical church of about 100 people (with several children). We’d love to have you – on this Sunday or any other!

Crossway Warehouse (1300 Crescent St, Wheaton, IL, 60187)

Downtown Geneva Outing 2.0, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

Please join me (Cathryn, your host) for a fun, relaxing time spent with your AAL friends! We’ll visit some of Geneva’s most popular shops, such as a bookstore, a coffee & chocolate shop, and some home goods/decor shops! Be ready to discover unique and interesting things and to engage in a great conversation or two! No need to RSVP, but you can if you would like! I’d love for you to join us! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Coffee, Cones, & Cabernet, 33 S 3rd St, Geneva, IL 60134, USA

Monday April 27th

Ultimate Frisbee, 5 pm

The highlight of any Monday depending on what else you are doing. Come play ultimate frisbee for a few hours. These are just pickup games so show up no matter your skill level. Feel free to come late or leave early as it fits in your schedule.

Contra Dancing in Chicago! 6:30 – 9:30 pm

Come enjoy dancing in a beautiful downtown setting with a welcoming and diverse crowd of new friends! The Monday Night Dance is Chicago’s largest regular contra dance event and a staple of AAL for many years now. Join us under the crystal chandeliers of the Erin Ballroom at the Irish-American Heritage Center. (Note: the venue is beautiful and so are you, but this is definitely not a formal event, so dress to stay cool.) If you’ve never contra danced before, no worries – all you have to do is walk and follow directions! Every dance sequence is taught just before we do it and called out while the music is playing, so you don’t have to prepare by watching YouTube or going to weeks of lessons, and everyone else there is happy to help – the Chicago community is truly top-notch at welcoming and helping newcomers!

(Note to my fellow introverts: this is the only form of social partner dance I’ve ever discovered where dancing without making conversation is not only possible but sort of the norm. Just sayin’.)

Although this dance happens every Monday night, April 27 will be an extra-special evening with S-tier caller Bob Isaacs and nationally acclaimed band Toss the Possum! You won’t want to miss this one, folks.

Schedule for the evening:

* 5:30ish – Carpools leave Wheaton/Glen Ellyn area

* 6:30 – Beginner lesson (optional, but it can be helpful if you’re new)

* 7:00 – Contra dancing begins

* 8:20ish – Short break and snacks

* 9:30 – Contra dancing ends

Admission is $7 (or $5 for students). If you have a pair of “indoor shoes,” bring them to change into to protect the floor. I’d also recommended bringing a water bottle to help save on plastic cups.

Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N Knox Ave UNIT 301, Chicago, IL 60630, USA

Tuesday April 28th

Craft Night, 7:00 – 10:00 pm

Let’s get creative! I will have 2 options of crafts for the night: Canvas painting or bracelet making. It will be a chill night with snacks and music to get the creativity flowing. I’ll have ideas for you too, if needed. Don’t be afraid to just come and hang out. Hope to see you there!
